BUILDINGS

Central and hyper-connected, GalFa Tower is made up of a perfect proportion of volumes with simple lines and modernity. As Gio Ponti wrote the building “achieves a beauty that is instantly understood and appreciated because it is the shape of truth”. Beauty renewed by enhancing the purity of the glass surface of the façade and giving back the space on the ground floor to the community: a crystal cube completely renewed in which a new transit and meeting place is created. With great care and attention the new GalFa Tower is the ideal place to play an active part in the great transformations that are changing the face of the city.

The Domux Home collection of apartments are part of an ambitious project to return this icon of modern architecture to the city which has always been a symbol of Milanese renewal. The last three residential floors of the tower (from the 26th to the 28th floor) are home to ten luxury apartments of different sizes that enhance the Domux Home collection of temporary luxury residences. Access is from a private entrance on Via Campanini 12 behind the tower through a subterranean square designed when the building was renovated that contributes to ensuring guests have an exclusive and private stay.

History and metropolitan style

“A perfect proportion of volumes with simple lines whose structural ancestry is expressed with wisdom and truth, with classicism”.

This is what Gio Ponti, one of the greatest masters of design and architecture wrote in 1961 in Domus describing the GalFa Tower that was built between 1956 and 1959 based on a project by the architect Melchiorre Bega. Today the historic skyscraper has been reborn in its original compositional and geometric clarity.

GalFa Tower fits harmoniously in the exclusive setting of the new skyline in Porta Nuova, a constantly evolving neighbourhood: between via Galvani and via Fara, as its name states in a strategic position that is easily accessible from motorways and well connected to the city centre, well served by public transport and just a short walk from the Stazione Centrale train station.

Its architectural simplicity and elegance, the linearity of the external walls are the undisputed values that have been renewed with care by Maurice Kanah of Studio bg&k associati. Contemporary character is provided by the renewed energy efficient glass façade that respects the original structure and adds volume with a crystal cube that creates a new focus and external space for people to appreciate and enjoy.

The redevelopment project has transformed the tower into an avant-garde building, not just to be admired but to live in and experience.
